Paros Airport, code PAS, is a small island airport on the south west coast of Paros, a few minutes from the fishing village of Aliki and the little port of Pounta, where the car ferry leaves for Antiparos. It only has flights within Greece, mostly short hops from Athens, so if you are flying from the UK you will change planes in Athens or come by ferry. This guide covers everything you need to know about Paros Airport, including the bus to Parikia, taxi fares, car hire, flights, what the terminal is like and the big upgrade planned for the next few years.
Paros Airport at a glance
Paros Airport (PAS) is about 10 km from Parikia and has flights from Athens, Mykonos and Thessaloniki, but no direct flights from the UK.

Does Paros Have an Airport?
Yes. Paros has its own airport, Paros National Airport, run by the Greek Civil Aviation Authority. The island’s first airstrip opened in 1982 with a runway of just 710 metres, only long enough for small propeller planes. The current airport opened next to it on 25 July 2016, with a new terminal and a 1,400 metre runway that can take the regional jets and turboprops used on flights from Athens.
Paros Airport is still small. The terminal covers about 1,400 square metres, and you will usually see only a handful of flights a day outside the summer peak. That is changing. In August 2026 the Greek government approved a 45.44 million euro redevelopment that will extend the runway to 1,799 metres and build a new 12,117 square metre terminal, a new control tower and a fire station. Work is due to be finished by 31 December 2030, and the longer runway should make it possible for larger aircraft, and possibly international flights, to use the island in future.
Paros Airport Code and Name
The Paros airport code is PAS, and this is the code you will see on your boarding pass and luggage tag. The ICAO code used by pilots and air traffic control is LGPA. You may see it listed as Paros National Airport, Paros Island Airport or simply Paros Airport. There is only one airport on Paros, so they all mean the same place. Do not confuse PAS with Naxos, the neighbouring island, whose airport code is JNX.
Where Is Paros Airport?
The airport sits on flat land on the south west coast, between Aliki and Pounta. That makes it very handy for the quiet south of the island and for Antiparos, but a fair distance from Naoussa in the north, which is where many visitors stay. The island’s main road runs round the coast, and traffic is light compared with Mykonos or Santorini, although the road into Parikia gets busy when a big ferry arrives.
| From Paros Airport to | Distance | By road | Bus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aliki | Very close | About 5 minutes | On some airport buses |
| Pounta (ferry to Antiparos) | Very close | About 5 to 10 minutes | 1 bus a day on the current timetable |
| Parikia | 10 km | About 15 minutes | Direct, 20 to 25 minutes |
| Golden Beach (Chrissi Akti) | 16.3 km | About 20 to 25 minutes | Change in Parikia |
| Naoussa | 20.4 km | About 25 to 30 minutes | Change in Parikia |
Paros Airport to Parikia, Naoussa and the Rest of the Island
You have 4 ways to get from Paros Airport to your hotel: the KTEL bus, a taxi, a pre booked transfer or a hire car. Because flights are small and spread out, you rarely get the huge crowds you see at Santorini or Mykonos, but the bus only runs a few times a day and there are not many taxis on the island.
KTEL bus
- Direct to Parikia
- Only a few buses a day
- Higher fare if you pay on board
- Best for Parikia on a budget
Taxi

- Best for Parikia and Aliki

- Best for Naoussa
Hire car

Paros Airport Bus to Parikia
KTEL Paros runs buses between the airport and Parikia, the island’s main town and ferry port. The journey takes about 20 to 25 minutes, as some buses call at Aliki or Pounta on the way. Tickets bought from the kiosks at Parikia or Naoussa bus stations start at 2.20 euros. If you buy your ticket on the bus you pay a higher on board fare, which KTEL Paros lists at 3.50 or 4 euros depending on the route. KTEL Paros says fares on its buses are paid by bank card, so have a card ready. Big bags go in the hold.
The airport bus is timed around the main flights rather than running every hour, so check the times before you land. These are the departures on the official KTEL Paros timetable valid from 11 September to 2 October 2026.

For travellers coming over from Antiparos
The timetable changes often. These are the early autumn 2026 times. In July and August the airport bus runs more often, while in winter it runs only around the few daily flights. If you land in the evening or your flight is delayed, you will probably need a taxi. Our Paros bus timetable covers every route on the island.
Paros Airport to Naoussa
There is no direct bus from Paros Airport to Naoussa. You take the airport bus to Parikia and change onto the Naoussa bus, which runs often in summer. Allow around an hour in total, and more if the connection does not line up. A taxi straight to Naoussa takes about 25 to 30 minutes, and local guides quote around 40 to 60 euros, depending on the time of day and where in Naoussa you are staying. A pre booked transfer at a fixed price is usually the simplest choice for Naoussa, especially if you land in the evening.
Paros Airport Taxi
Taxis wait at the exit of the terminal when flights are due, but Paros only has a few dozen taxis for the whole island, so on a busy summer afternoon you may have to wait for one to come back from Parikia. A taxi to Parikia costs about 15 to 25 euros depending on the time of day, and Aliki is one of the shortest and cheapest rides on the island. Taxis run on the meter, with a small airport charge of about 1.10 euros and a higher rate between midnight and 05:00. Your hotel can call a taxi for you, and our Paros taxi guide has more fares and booking tips.
Paros Airport Transfers
A pre booked transfer means a driver waits for you in Arrivals and takes you straight to your hotel for a price agreed in advance. On Paros this makes most sense if you are staying in Naoussa, Golden Beach, Drios or anywhere in the east of the island, or if you are landing on one of the evening flights when the buses have stopped. Many hotels arrange airport pick ups, so it is worth asking when you book.
Car Hire at Paros Airport
There are 2 car hire offices at the airport, and many local firms on Paros will bring a car to the terminal for you. Paros is one of the easiest Cycladic islands to drive around. The roads are mostly wide and quiet, parking is free in most villages, and a car lets you reach the beaches and mountain villages such as Lefkes that the buses serve less often. The exception is the centre of Naoussa and the old town of Parikia, where parking fills up in the evenings. UK visitors can drive in Greece on a UK photocard licence. The airport car park has space for about 70 cars. See our guide to getting around Paros for more on driving, scooters and quad bikes.
Flights to Paros Airport
Paros Airport only has domestic flights. Athens is by far the busiest route, with flights all year taking about 40 to 45 minutes. In summer there are also short hops from Mykonos, which take about 15 minutes, and seasonal flights from Thessaloniki.
| Route | Airlines | Flight time |
|---|---|---|
| Athens to Paros | Olympic Air, Sky Express, Mysky | About 40 to 45 minutes |
| Mykonos to Paros | Mysky | About 15 minutes |
| Thessaloniki to Paros | Aegean Airlines, Sky Express | Seasonal route |
There are no direct flights from the UK to Paros. The quickest way from London, Manchester or other UK airports is to fly to Athens and connect onto a Paros flight, ideally on a single booking so your bags are checked through. The other popular option is to fly to Athens and take the ferry from Piraeus or Rafina, or to fly direct to Mykonos or Santorini in summer and take a ferry across. Our guide on how to get to Paros compares all the options.
Inside the Terminal
Paros Airport is one of the simplest airports you will ever use. The terminal has only 2 gates, a small check in area and one waiting room, so you can walk from the car park to your seat in a few minutes on a quiet day.
| Facility | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Food and drink | A small canteen serving coffee, drinks and snacks |
| Money | An ATM, but bring some cash in case it is empty in busy weeks |
| Car hire | 2 car hire offices in the terminal |
| Parking | A car park with room for about 70 cars |
| Lounge | There is no lounge |
| Shops | Very limited, and no duty free as all flights are domestic, so buy gifts and snacks in town |
Paros Airport Arrivals and Departures
Arriving at Paros is quick. You walk from the plane to the terminal, collect your bags from a single belt and are outside within minutes, because every flight is a domestic one with no passport control. The bus stop, taxis and car hire offices are all right by the exit.
For departures, around 1 hour before a flight is usually enough outside the summer peak, and 90 minutes in July and August. The small aircraft used on Paros routes have strict weight limits, so check your airline’s baggage allowance before you pack, as it is often lower than on international flights. Strong summer winds occasionally delay or divert flights to and from Paros, so if you are connecting to an international flight in Athens, leave a generous gap or travel to Athens the day before. You can check live Paros Airport arrivals and departures on your airline’s website or app.
Paros Airport to the Ferry Ports
Paros has 2 ports that matter to visitors. Parikia is the main port, used by ferries to Athens, Naxos, Mykonos, Santorini and the other Cyclades, and it is about 15 minutes from the airport by taxi or 20 to 25 minutes by bus. Pounta is the small port a few minutes from the airport, where the car ferry crosses to Antiparos in about 10 minutes. If you are heading straight to Antiparos, a taxi from the airport to Pounta is quick and cheap. Our ferry guides cover the routes from Paros to Naxos and Mykonos, and the full list of Cyclades ferry routes.
Nearest Airport to Paros
The nearest airport is the island’s own, PAS, but as it has no international flights, most UK visitors start their journey at one of these instead.

| Santorini (JTR) | Direct summer flights from 8 UK airports, then a ferry to Paros | Island hopping in the southern Cyclades |
| Naxos (JNX) | Domestic flights from Athens, then a short ferry to Paros | A back up if Paros flights are full |
